This is an opportunity to work as part of a dedicated, cohesive team in supporting and educating pupils with **SEMH**(Social, Emotional and Mental Health) difficulties in a Secondary setting where children have been temporarily removed from their mainstream school. Students struggle to regulate their own emotions and can become anxious, angry and upset,leading them to lash out verbally and physically.

Your new role involves:

- Supporting students with SEMH difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assisting in outdoor activities such as surfing, climbing and kayaking
- Leading and delivering PE lessons
- Liaising with teachers to ensure the best possible progress for the pupil/s
- Managing challenging behavior when students become anxious or upset
- Delivering fun, engaging activities and sessions
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil/s

You need to be
- Able to handle challenging behaviours confidently
- Passionate about Sport and PE
- A people person who can lead and motivate young people in Sport and PE
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the specific unique needs of SEMH learners
- Creative and organised in your approach to aid learning
- Passionate about helping students that may have become disenfranchised with education, to achieve their personal and academic goals
