Job Summary
- The IBAR Material Planner will be responsible for delivering efficient, effective, and flexible supply chain solutions to meet production requirements. The role will require forging excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of products in line with production schedules. Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, the IBAR Material Planner will work closely with all functions across the business to exchange information regarding inventories, schedules, and any supply chain-related issues.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time material delivery to production to minimise disruption to production schedules.
- Proactively track purchase orders to ensure on time delivery and all advanced requirements are met prior to goods being received.
- Work with the Schedulers to plan any change decisions to minimise incurring additional costs.
- Risks to supply continuity are identified and acted upon to minimise the impact to production.
- Where shortages arise, swift action is taken to minimise the impact on production and solutions are communicated to all impacted stakeholders.
- Provide trend analysis on repeat material shortages and implementation on corrective/preventative actions.
- Provide a link between Procurement, Production and Projects.
- Develop a suite of KPIs to be shared monthly, including input to supplier performance.
- Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time.
- Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with procurement team.
- Completing tasks as directed by the Line Manager.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Ability to act both as a Team player or independently, and across multiple activities.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Assertive, adaptable, resilient and embraces change.
- Computer literate with the ability to use Excel at Intermediate level.
- Familiarity with an ERP system would be an advantage.
- Previous planning and/or procurement experience would be an advantage.
