**Hours**: Between 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

**Can you support the Great North Air Ambulance Service with your knowledge and experience of all things fleet related?**

**Role description**

If you’re passionate about pre-hospital care and have a knack for fixing cars, you could be part of our mission We’re looking for an experienced, time-served volunteer mechanic to help look after our fleet at our Eaglescliffe HQ.

With 26 vehicles in our fleet, we work with some of the best garages in the area. However, need support with the day-to-day checks, spotting issues, and organising MOTs and servicing.

You’ll ensure our fleet cars are road-ready by performing regular maintenance and basic checks on our fleet vehicles and identifying and reporting any mechanical issues.

When it’s due, you’ll work with the team to schedule services and maintain accurate records of repairs and the condition of the vehicles.

The role would suit someone who can regularly volunteer between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

**Essential Skills**
- An interest in the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the work we do
- A lot of enthusiasm and a proactive attitude
- A solid knowledge of automobile mechanics and experience working on cars
- The ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify potential issues
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by the organization
- Participate in volunteer training and orientation sessions
- Follow guidelines and instructions provided by the organization
- Support and engage with staff, volunteers, and clients
- Attend meetings and events as required
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and activities

**Skills**:

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks and priorities
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
