**Overview**

Reed Scientific is partnered with a Manufacturing company based near Cwmbran, who are looking for an R&D Chemist to join their business. Their manufacturing facility fosters a friendly and welcoming working environment, whereby everyone pitches in, witha collaborative, close knit team, across the entire site. You will be aiming to assist with the research & development of new products to clients' requirements whilst ensuring all elements of design, formulation and manufacturing are safe and accurate. Thisposition could suit someone who is looking to gain experience as a Research & Devlopment whether you are a recent graduate or experienced chemist looking for a new challenge

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Independently completes Development projects from inception to officialisation or to transfer to development, meeting deadlines with support from supervisor as needed.
- Provide support for key clients and raw materials suppliers for all products within the company's portfolio.
- Maintain accurate records of product development throughout the product life cycle.
- Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in proactively identifying and proposing solutions to issues that may arise during product development or in transfer to manufacturing.
- Manage Stability, user trials, challenge tests, and all required external tests.
- Ensure activities are managed safely based on comprehensive risk assessment (including COSHH) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

**Qualifications**:

- Qualified to at least BSc or equivalent in Chemistry or a similar technical discipline.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Knowledge of structure and property relationships.
- Preferably with experience in cosmetic and personal care or Pharma industry.
- Be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
