ABOUT CLASS 331 AT ALLERTON DEPOT

The fleet at Allerton consists of 31 Class 331 Second Generation of New Electric Multiple Units. This fleet brings an improved travelling experience ensuring comfort, capacity and quality for the North West passengers. The successful applicant will be working as part of a very qualified skilled team working together, to ensure that these trains are as reliable and as functional as possible.

ROLE SUMMARY

We have an exciting new Materials Controller vacancy on our Northern Project in Allerton, Liverpool. The role of Material Controller, based in depot warehouse, is to support the operations on depot through maintaining highly organised store systems and producing efficient accurate documentation. This role is a standalone role working in stores.

SALARY RANGE

The annual salary for this role is £29,025, rising to £29,605.50 upon the successful completion of your probation. Please see our excellent employee benefits listed below.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To process all goods inwards and outwards (electronically and physically)
- Liaise with CAF costumer and other CAF personnel with materials transactions, queries, stock inspections and audits as required.
- Manage and process repairable materials and shipping documentation
- Expedite all open orders with suppliers
- Coordination of logistics with suppliers and local depot
- Maintain material logs, system update and documentation, providing quality and accurate information
- Manage periodical stocktaking of materials
- Produce relevant and accurate reports and KPI’s requested by the company
- Monitor the stock levels, and the system information to ensure that all data is accurate, including periodical comparison with the costumer systems.
- Be able to support the Operations Manager, local depot, Procurement department and Stores and Logistics Department with materials planning, control and any other project activities
- Place orders on the system to pre-approved suppliers to complete the purchasing administrative process for NCRs and logistics.
- Participate in team/client meetings as required
- Carry out deliveries and collections to other CAF Locations
- Occasional support of stores in other projects (locations)
- Occasional support of stores in other projects (locations) and the execution of Depot and Central Stores Materials Controller responsibilities
- Assist in implementing CAF Procedures
- Provide support and training as and when required about stores, logistics and CAF processes/system.
- Support with training to new starters, or other areas of the business as and when required.
- Ensure compliance with all HSQE requirements
- On occasion carry out other activities to assist the business requirements

REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILL
- English language and Mathematics standard grade 3 or above (or equivalent).
- Full driving license

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/ PERSONAL COMPETENCIES
- Proven relevant experience in a similar role (warehousing operations, maintaining materials inventory)
- Proven relevant experience using a ERP System and computer skills.
