Position Overview: As an Accounts Team Trainee, you will learn and assist with the financial operations of the company under the guidance of experienced team members. Your role will focus on supporting daily accounting tasks such as managing ledgers, processing transactions, and assisting in financial reporting, providing a solid foundation in accounting practices.

Training: Comprehensive training will be provided, including hands-on sessions with our accounting software (primarily Sage) and in-depth guidance on internal procedures for financial management, reporting, and compliance, including GDPR. This training aims to prepare you for a successful career in finance within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with daily bank reconciliations and maintain sales and purchase ledger invoicing, queries, and maintenance.
- Support credit control processes and assist in the preparation of financial documents such as budgets and forecasts.
- Learn to handle communications with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial queries.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of VAT returns and year-end accounts under supervision.
- Ensure GDPR compliance in all handling of financial data.
- Provide general administrative support within the Accounts team as needed.

Personal Requirements:

- Eagerness to learn and develop financial management skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and a working knowledge along with an interest in mastering Sage accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a support role.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic, capable of working effectively within a team environment.
- We are a dog friendly office, and you need to be comfortable to work in an environment that has dogs.

Scope for Progression: This entry-level position is designed as a stepping stone to more advanced roles within our Accounts Team, such as Accounts Team Member and eventually Accounts Team Leader, based on performance and the development of requisite skills.

Reporting To: Accounts Team Leader
