**About the Role**
As the Head of Cancer and Palliative Care, you will manage and lead the Trust’s Cancer and Palliative Care Services. You will collaborate closely with clinical and senior professional staff to ensure services meet national performance standards and exceed patient expectations. **Key Responsibilities**
- **Leadership**: Manage and lead Cancer and Palliative Care Services, ensuring alignment with national, regional, and local strategies.
- **Performance Management**: Oversee and improve service delivery in accordance with national waiting time standards.
- **Collaboration**: Work with Divisional leaders, Clinical and Operational Service Leads, and external partners to enhance service quality.
- **Innovation**: Identify areas for improvement and develop recovery/improvement plans, ensuring services are fit for purpose.
- **On-Call Duties**: Participate in the Trust’s Senior Manager on-call rota, requiring out-of-hours commitment.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- **Essential**: Management degree or equivalent experience.
- **Experience**: Extensive experience within Cancer services and senior-level management within the NHS or a similar environment.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of NHS cancer targets, waiting time rules, stratified pathways, COSD, and national audits.
- **Skills**: Proven ability to identify, scope, and implement service improvements. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
