Small Plant Fitter

Ferguson Transport & Shipping are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Plant Fitter to work in our service department: Corpach, Fort William.

We have a large fleet of vehicles and over 170 trailers of various specifications which are all serviced and maintained at our workshop.

Previous experience of working in a busy workshop environment is required. This post is suitable for a plant fitter, car mechanic or person with mechanical background.

As a Trailer / HGV Technician you will be based in a busy workshop environment. You will be required to undertake all levels of maintenance, repairs and major over hauls as well as completing standard servicing and diagnostics.
- Follow the repair process from fault analysis to completion.
- Diagnose trailer defects.
- Maintain and repair of all types of HGV trailers.
- Ensure comprehensive completion of all documentation, including worksheets.

Main responsibilities:

- Ensure all inspections and repairs are carried out according to the manufacturer's procedures and in a safe and responsible manner
- Ensure all work is recorded accurately and signed off accordingly
- Ensure that all service paperwork is completed as per instructions
- Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and with warranty material on completion of a repair
- Attend technical training and any other training that is made available for your development.
