**Hello**

We're Capital Dog Care, and we have been providing countryside fun for North London dogs since 2009.

We are now recruiting for a part-time Doggy Day Care Assistant / Cover Driver to join our growing team. We're in search of someone suitable who lives between Hemel Hempstead and the North Circular, ideally located near Watford and its surroundings.

Your main responsibility will be to handle day care duties from Monday to Thursday each week, between 10:15am and 3:15pm. Alongside this, for a total of 60 days spread throughout the year, you'll also assume cover driving duties ferrying our dogs to and from our facility. During these periods, your hours will extend from 8am to 5:45pm, and may include Fridays.

**Please note that this job requires driving. Applicants must have held a full driving license for at least five years, with no more than three points on it, and be able to operate a vehicle with a manual gearbox.**

**A typical day at our day care will involve you**:

- Caring for and playing with the dogs entrusted to us, ensuring they're exercised, stimulated, healthy and happy.
- Pitching in with the team to help make sure everything runs smoothly and safely.
- Helping out with our social media activity, sharing the fun and the cuteness.

**When you are cover driving, you will be**:

- Picking up pups from their homes in one of our purpose-built dog-mobiles and heading to our countryside facility.
- Getting to know our clients, building a strong bond.
- Carrying out your day care duties as specified above.
- Returning happy, tired dogs to their homes at the end of the day, with their owners knowing they've had great time.

**What we are looking for in you**:

- 100% reliability and trustworthiness.
- A clear affinity with dogs, plus an ability to supervise them effectively.
- First-class people skills.
- Excellent driving skills. Previous van driving experience is not strictly necessary, but it would be an advantage.
- A great work ethic & being content to work in all weathers.
- The flexibility to be able to step in and cover drive at short notice if required (ordinarily your cover driving will be scheduled weeks or even months in advance).
