Job overview

The Urology service is excited to advertise for a Full-time Urology Complex Upper Tract Clinical Fellow. This is a 12-month fixed-term post, including specialist theatre sessions, specialist cancer clinics, participation in a weekly MDT and commitment to the Urology post-CCT fellow on-call rota.

The Nottingham Urology Service is delivered across Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and Nottingham City Hospital (NCH) campuses, based in the Department of Urology at NCH. The Department of Urology is part of the Cancer and Associated Specialist directorate and is located in the purpose built Nottingham Urology Centre, opened 14 years ago. Nottingham Urology Centre has three urology theatres as well as state-of-the-art outpatient facilities, including diagnostic suites, flexible cystoscopy and TRUS diagnostic suites and an on-site lithotripter. The Department is also linked to Sherwood Forest Hospitals and there may be necessity to work cross-site with regards to on-call.

Main duties of the job

This service provided by Urology Specialty is provided across both campuses, but your primary base is Nottingham City Hospital. The department is also linked to Sherwood Forest Hospitals and there may be necessity to work cross-site with regards to on call

This is an exciting subspecialist training opportunity, suitable for trainees nearing the end of urology training, or already post-CCT. The post will be initially for 12 months, although the timescale may be tailored to the specific needs of the successful applicant.

The uro-oncology service in Nottingham is delivered by 5 subspecialist urological surgeons and extensively covers urological cancer surgery, including open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques

Applicants will be expected to run an independent uro-oncology clinic, contribute to departmental cancer diagnostic pathways, participate in a post-CCT urology on-call rota (as described above), attend a weekly uro-oncology MDT, and engage in departmental research and training activities

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- MBBS
- Licenced and full registration with the General Medical Council

Experience

Essential criteria
- Within 6 months of CCT
- FRCS
- Demonstrates good knowledge in the diagnosis and management of Uro-oncological cancer, and can independently manage a Uro-oncology cancer clinic

Desirable criteria
- POST-CCT

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
