Planning Administrator

Kegspertise Logistics Ltd provides a national service of collecting, sorting and distributing empty containers on behalf of the UK Brewing industry. Containers consist of kegs, casks and gas cylinders used for the dispense of beer products in pubs.
Kegspertise have five operating sites, across England and Scotland, in addition to the main office located in Horbury for the centralised planning department. To support ongoing business expansion, an additional Planning Administrator will be added to the Horbury office-based team.
The role of Planning Administrator will report directly to the Planning Manager, whilst supporting the site based Middle Management teams. The role predominantly involves planning multiple drivers (including vans and HGVs) and coordinating inbound and outbound site movements. During this period of growth, this diverse role will develop over time with additional opportunities for developing new skills across a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.
Working alongside our small enthusiastic team, you will be primarily responsible for the following duties:
- Booking jobs and route planning for Van and HGV drivers.
- Supporting drivers daily and responding to live situations with reactive planning.
- Maintaining and updating various online spreadsheets, including stock sheets, booking logs and collections dashboards.
- Liaising with customers to verify the details of jobs during the booking process.
- Organising and facilitating collections and deliveries for all Kegspertise sites.
- Processing paperwork and creating new paperwork when needed.
- Other general administration duties.
Previous route planning experience is preferred but not necessary. Core skills which are essential are listed below:
- Excellent knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of Google Sheets and other Google software.
- Ability to work in an unsupervised environment as well as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Possess a flexible approach to working hours.
- Possess a methodical working approach with the ability to prioritise, improve and refine existing processes and procedures.
