The Family Care Division at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services Women’s, Children’s and Sexual Health services across the North West sector of Greater Manchester, and beyond. The key purpose of this post is to provide leadership capacity for our Division to meet a number of its key objectives including:

- Key transformation priorities in Maternity and Childrens;
- Delivery of Cost Improvement and associated savings;
- Contract tenders and negotiations - securing the future of our services;
- Improving operational governance and performance;
- Leading change management across the Division.

As well as having the relevant experience you must be resilient, with a strong work ethic and the ability to build effective working relationships with clinical colleagues. Your leadership will be vital to drive and influence change and improvements throughout the Division. You will be expected to link with key stakeholders, internal and external, as well as other agencies to ensure services are fit for future generations.

To support the Divisional Director of Operations (DDO), Deputy Divisional Director of Operations (DDDO) and wider Senior Leadership team to deliver the agreed business and service objectives of the Division by leading operational delivery and transformation for Family Care services.

The Performance and Operational Change Lead will act as a divisional leader, working in partnership with health and care colleagues across Bolton NHS Foundation Trust (Bolton FT or The Trust) and the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) to lead transformation of our services and to secure their future within the organisation. The post holder will use their expertise to drive improvement and change, with a key focus on culture change, project management, operational transformation and delivery of cost improvement programmes.

This role will have specific responsibility for driving transformation across Family Care services, using national best practice and local intelligence to inform future service models to provide the best possible care for our patients.

The Performance and Operational Change Lead will be a key part of the Divisional senior management team, working closely alongside the Deputy Divisional Director of Operations to ensure a consistent approach is taken to service management, performance improvement and assurance across all operational services.

The Performance and Operational Change Lead will engage front line colleagues and those with lived experience to ensure their views are fully heard and reflected in any service change initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

Provide senior management and leadership for all operational matters relating to Family Care; ensuring delivery of all operational targets and standards

Leading transformation of services to ensure sustainability of service models across health and care, and alignment with nationally recognised best practice (living well at home and home first)

Leading development of innovative ways of working, including development of virtual hospital in partnership with hospital based services to enable the shift of care into the community, supported by technology where appropriate

Manage the operational risks and maintain operational control of Family care services to ensure delivery against agreed performance and financial objectives

Acting as Programme Lead for Family Care Transformation

Develop a close working relationship with the Deputy DDO, supporting them in ensuring performance and delivery across the Division by providing operational insight and analysis to support business decision making

Building key relationships with partner organisations across the locality and Greater Manchester footprint, to ensure understanding of pressures across the locality and region and development of a system approach to delivering Family Care services

Provide leadership and support to Business Managers; encouraging them to work as a local triumvirate with Matrons, Princ
