**This is the job**:
As a Household Claims Fraud Investigator, you will support the Counter Fraud department in its objective of preventing and detecting claims and policy fraud. This will be achieved through the effective investigation and management of claims fraud referrals and contributing to the continued development of the Counter Fraud Team.

**What will I be doing?**:

- Providing end to end investigation and management of household fraud referrals at point claim, to reduce exposure to fraudulent activity.
- Maintaining and investigating the management of claims fraud referrals to achieve a cost-efficient conclusion and mínimal financial loss to the company in accordance with the claim’s philosophy, claims handling procedures and service levels.
- Effective conversation management techniques to further determine risk and separate honesty from inconsistency when dealing with all claimants and their representatives
- Pursuing follow up enquiries with external parties including regulatory and licensing authorities, other insurers and law agencies
- Providing focused instructions to, and subsequently liaising with, specialist investigative suppliers including field investigators, product and forensic specialists
- Validating documents including contractor estimates and proof of loss material (including, though not limited to, original purchase invoices, jewellery valuations and photographs submitted in support of a claim)
- Maintaining good file discipline and accurate reserves, together with an effective diary system which ensures that cases are reviewed on a regular basis

**What do I need?**:

- Thorough knowledge of household insurance with a strong understanding of the principles of insurance
- An in-depth understanding of the home insurance claims market, how it operates and have a track record of using this knowledge to drive efficiencies
- Knowledge and experience of the household product so that timely decisions can be made regarding policy wording, with the ability to raise indemnity concerns at claims stage.
- Ability to assess the evolving 'evidential picture’ of a claim to drive a proactive investigation and determine the correct outcome.
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage multiple work streams and associated investigations are essential
- Stakeholder management, ability to build strong networks & influence upwards
