**Overall purpose and scope of the job**:
This role is part of a small team of 2 Treasury Assistants reporting into a highly motivated Financial Controller. It's a business critical function ensuring the correct accounting for all sales from both the online and retail stores and the cash for the business. Our accounts system upgrade this year will be a catalyst for change in this department with huge scope for improvements to processes, we welcome new ideas

**Duties Include**:
Detailed transactional reconciliations of cash in transit, coinage, Klarna & credit card control accounts, to ensure all sales are received into the bank and following up discrepancies
Weekly balance sheet account reconciliations of cash in transit, coinage, vouchers, Klarna and credit card control accounts
Identify, investigate and escalate issues found
Be a key contact for Retail Store colleagues to resolve queries and issues, send out banking books, liaise with cash collections company etc
Raise and process manual payments requested by Customer Service, Trade & OverHeads Purchase Ledger teams
Investigate and challenge chargebacks, detailed tracking and reporting on chargebacks
Weekly reporting to Profit Protection team and senior personnel on cash discrepancies and chargebacks
Count and reconcile paper vouchers tendered by customers in store, track and report totals
Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations of other control accounts including charity donations and vouchers
Be a key contact for the bank and merchant services to resolve any queries or issues quickly
Holiday cover for other Treasury Assistant, cross trained on their essential tasks including Daily Sales & Cash Report sent to business owners and daily bank transaction posting
Pro-active improvements to processes and spreadsheets focusing on repetitive manual processes and work with other departments including IT to systemise some of these
Provide assistance to the Financial Controller and Finance Manager on ad hoc projects
