The School of Psychology is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Counselling Psychology to join our supportive, collegiate, and ambitious team. We are passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their full potential in mental health, and we are committed to creating a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and well-being.

As a core member of staff, you will contribute primarily to our flagship programmes, the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and MSc Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy. You will support and empower our students to achieve their goals, fostering a supportive learning environment rooted in values such as empathy, compassion, and collaboration.

You will be an experienced practitioner of counselling and psychotherapy, registered with the HCPC as a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist, or be eligible for registration within an agreed timeframe. Alternatively, you may have secured accredited status with BACP. You will have experience of academic leadership and supporting students towards success.

The role will also support your research interests, and you will join an active research community. In REF 2021, we made our first submission to UoA 04 (Psychology, Psychiatry, and neuroscience), where half of our submission was rated internationally excellent or world-leading. By joining our vibrant and growing psychology community, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the field and to the lives of our students.
