**About the Role**
Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rover’s new 2.94m square foot Mercia campus, one of thelargest UK warehouse developments for a single customer. With a multimillion-pound major facility investment program already underway, we would like you to join us now to be part of the core implementation team and to transition to site leadership roles inthe ‘business as usual’ structure. This is a great opportunity to be a major part of the successful implementation of what is said to be the largest automotive logistics project in the UK.
As Operational Excellence Manager you will work closely with operational teams and alongside site leadership in embedding Operational Excellence and Digital technologies consistently. You will lead, coordinate, and deliver process improvement projects alignedto agreed business priorities. Your primary focus will be to deploy Operational Excellence and Digital technologies into Unipart Logistics operations, delivering value to the business and positive outcomes measured through Safety, Quality, Cost, and Deliveryindicators.
Initially, this role will be responsible for managing and delivering the design of all material handling processes within the Warehouse Design project. This includes ensuring all processes are captured, documented and are aligned to our efficiency and qualitytargets. The Operational Excellence Manager will support a team of Process Leaders to ensure they have the required inputs to document these processes.
- Leading and delivering continuous improvement activities to improve operational performance and enhance colleague capability in the use of Unipart Way tools and techniques
- Delivering tangible and validated financial savings through Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Digital delivery
- Using Operational Excellence and Unipart Logistics Digital tools to deliver ‘Right First Time’ principles into operations
- Learning, sharing and adopting of best practice within the Logistics division and wider business
- Acting as mentor and coach for peers and high potential colleagues, ensuring there is a strong pipeline of succession
- Supporting and coaching Team Leaders and Operational Managers with their personal development accreditation programmes, particularly OpEx elements where applicable

**About You**:

- Demonstrable experience in process improvement/continuous improvement/lean practitioner roles
- Target/results driven with ability to cope with the demands of a fast-moving and ever-changing set of priorities
- Assertive and competent in influencing multiple stakeholders across a range of hierarchical levels from shop floor to senior management
- Customer and Quality focused with an eye for detail
- Analytical problem solver
- Self-sufficient, self-motivated and stress resistant
- Strong planning, organising and time management skills
- Good Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Google Applications capability
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
- A background in automotive aftermarket supply chains is highly desirable
