We are recruiting for a Maintenance Surveyor; a hybrid role, primarily home based, covering surveys to the Kent area.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Surveyor to carry out pre & post-inspection and create reports for responsive repairs, void works and cyclical repairs and Legal Disrepair. You’ll be the face of Clarion for our customers, delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction and managing the performance and progress of our Contractors ensuring that quality works are delivered on time, with mínimal defects, to a regional budget of £16m, all within relevant statutory regulations and compliance.

We’ll look to you to deliver a professional surveying service including overseeing major and complex works, Legal Disrepair, responsive repairs, voids, aids & adaptations, carrying out diagnostic inspections, surveys & technical reports and providing accurate technical advice with competent and thorough surveys.

You’ll identify and manage insurance claims including property inspections and managing decants, liaising with loss adjusters and the insurance team, and you’ll be the technical lead during the handover of any new developments.

Other responsibilities include:
- Effective and efficient control budgetary spend of approx. £2m- Review invoices and requests for payment from contractors, challenging and resolving submissions- Deliver and effectively manage legal disrepair claims and Environmental Health Orders and provide detailed reports- Ensure effective liaison with in-house service provider, M&E contractors and external sub-contractor staff to ensure the delivery of a top quartile service- Management and coordination of empty properties to ensure mínimal rental loss and maximum return.

Preferably you’ll hold a recognised qualification in a property related discipline such as a Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance Level 3, or a degree level qualification and desirably be a member of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CIOB.

You’ll need a good knowledge of the Social Housing Sector and awareness of its regulations and a demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building and regulatory standards, planning regulations, health & safety and other legislation relevant to asset management.

We’re seeking a surveyor with experience of financial management and controls within contractor management and day to day repairs delivery, Legal Disrepair case management with a good knowledge of providing a professional surveying service.
