**Carer - Ayton, Near Eyemouth**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

A young lad, who has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user, requires additional staff to join his small team to assist

with all aspects of his care. Mum can provide further information for any successful applicants.

**THE JOB**

To assist with personal care, (this includes continence)

To assist with medication as directed

To have knowledge/experience of a Jejunostomy pump for feeding (or willingness to be shown)

To assist with moving and handling using hoist provided (no formal training required)

To be observant and aware of any seizure activity and inform mum as required

To be confident in communicating any issues/concerns with mum.

Ability to be precise and a good eye for detail

Cheerful, positive, friendly individual

Ability to work on own initiative, to be flexible and prioritise

You must be honest, trustworthy and reliable

You must be a good communicator

You must be patient and sensitive to the family’s needs

Adhere to confidentiality at all times

Clean driving licence (as may be required to take client out in mum’s car)

**HOURS OF WORK** - There may also be additional hours as required and to cover holidays

Saturday 9am-1.30pm Sunday 9am - 1.30pm

There may also be the possibility of a couple of evenings Mon-Fri to fit around out of school activities (5-8pm)

**Shadowing can be provided on weekday mornings (7.30am - 8.30am)**

**RATE OF PAY**

£12.00 per hour

Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
