We have a new opportunity available for a **ESOL Tutor **to join our team based in Leicester**. **You will join us on a **full-time basis **and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£20,000-£28,000 per annum.**

**The ESOL Tutor Role**:
You will improve the literacy skills of adults who have a first language other than English and increase the number of adults achieving Literacy (ESOL) and Numeracy Functional Skills qualifications.

You will contribute towards ensuring excellent student attendance & retention and provide excellent CEIAG and support to students whilst safeguarding the welfare of all students.

**Key responsibilities as our ESOL Tutor**:

- Deliver ESOL courses resulting in the learners achievement of entry level, level 1 and 2 qualifications in literacy (ESOL)
- Deliver maths Functional Skills qualifications
- Devise, plan and deliver ESOL training to groups and individuals
- Effectively induct new learners and produce robust, individual learning plans
- Organise and co-ordinate other training, using outside agencies, as appropriate
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure that learner achieves learning goal
- Plan, assess and review learner progress using the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum, setting SMART targets
- Provide cover, where necessary, for other tutors
- Carry out initial assessment activities to identify individual needs, and develop Support Plans
- Conduct and document meaningful student reviews
- Invigilate exams, as appropriate

**As our ESOL Tutor you will need**:

- Level 2 English and Maths
- ESOL/TEFL/CELTA Qualification or equivalent
- Understanding of ESOL teaching techniques
- The ability to deliver effective training sessions to groups
- The ability to persuade & influence others and deal with conflict/challenging behaviour
- To have a sound understanding of student needs, barriers and effective interventions
- To remain positive, with a bubbly, engaging personality
- To meet targets and provide a quality service to all stakeholders

**Desirable**:

- Level 3 Teaching qualification
- Subject specialist and Assessor qualifications
