**Our well-established client based in Cheadle Heath; Stockport are looking to recruit a Stores Person / Yard Operative to start ASAP on an ongoing Temporary basis.**

**Main Purpose of the Job**:

- To work alongside the Stores Manager, assist with all stores, and stock activities.
- To provide and excellent service to bother internal and external stakeholders.
- To include executing the receiving and dispatching of stock to various internal customers.
- To include maintenance of an efficient stock management system (SAP).

**Duties Include**:

- To support the Stores Manager with all aspects of the Stores Operation.
- Flexible working between sites when needed.
- To deputise in the absence of the Stores Manager
- Maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
- Maintain inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks.
- Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant materials to maximise availability of working stock/equipment.
- Ensure that goods inwards / stock control departments are well organised and controlled to sufficiently support all business area and the goals of the business.
- Ensure the incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
- Ensure materials are ready and available when required.
- Ensure that deliveries to stores are monitored and late deliveries are chased and followed up until received.
- Provide inventory reports as required
- Monitor and evaluate consumables usage & costs, monitor & evaluate material utilisation and scrap
- Improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory and minimise costs.
- Carryout annual stock takes and provide reports
- Perform cyclic stock checks and provide reports
- Ensure works orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system
- To ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
- Have a detailed understanding of MRP and inventory control / managements systems and ERP.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment.
- Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
- Update sales orders with status changes and schedule of rates to feed back to the client.
- Provide reports for business managers as required.
- Arranged disposal of hazardous waste
- Any ad-hoc duties deemed appropriate by the procurement manager
- Ensure the company’s legal requirements are met with respect to the transportation of goods
- Be aware of all materials that require COSHH sheets. Ensure they are up to date for all relevant stocked products.
- Report all damaged/missing equipment to relevant business managers and monitor replacement issued.
- Ensure all products within warranty period are returned to supplier and replacements are received.
- Goods in - To be responsible for the acceptance of all deliveries in Stores including checking deliveries, signing for deliveries and handling the delivery note for receipt.
- Goods out - Responsible for issuing goods to internal/external businesses. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and updating the system.
- Ensuring all warehouse/stores systems are maintained and up to date improve efficiencies
- Maintain accurate records of the preparation of requisitions, orders placed, receiving goods, inspecting and storing of stock.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting on stock movement and assignment to the relevant cost centre or job
- Liaising with internal customers and suppliers.
- Planning, monitoring and dispatching orders.
- Identifying slow moving lines and reporting where applicable.
- Administration duties.
- Implementing and maintaining a bin located warehouse which is inter linked with the stores system, to include locating stock for existing and new products
- Operating/utilising FLT (Counterbalance) and ensure that it is used safely and in accordance with the training provided.
- Dealing with returned goods appropriately
- Placing orders for stock when required. Raising purchase orders and receipting goods to stock.
- Ensuring the safety and security of stores, to be aware of Health and Safety issues, instruct employees and visitors to the stores accordingly
- To provide monthly stock reports as required.

**Working Hours**:

- 7.00am to 3.00pm (Monday to Thursday)
- 7.00am to 2.30pm (Friday).
