**THE ROLE**

Due to our expanding client base, we are looking to strengthen our team in our Forfar office by recruiting a **Bookkeeping Assistant **into our Business Services Team. Our Team has an excellent reputation for providing a variety of accounting services to clients, including bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns and management accounts.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

This is a varied and busy role where you'll look after a portfolio of clients and your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Preparing VAT returns.
- Liaising with clients and providing bookkeeping support.
- Reviewing and maintaining online filing systems.
- Rolling forward accounts at the request of accountants.
- Administering electronic and manual bank records and mandates as required.
- Preparing correspondence to various parties.
- Cloud accounting.
- Creating, evaluating and submitting reports to clients.

**ABOUT YOU**
- This is a junior-level role; ideally you'll have a payroll qualification or training; however, it's important that you can demonstrate the ability to learn and develop the skills that match the requirements of the role.
- Good numerical skills are essential as are excellent communication skills and a keen willingness to learn and develop.
- Professional and pro-active, you will be experienced in providing the best service possible to clients with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- You are positive and confident in your abilities, but you're also a kind, empathetic person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- We will work closely with you to continually develop your technical skills and experience and provide any appropriate training where necessary.

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
