We are currently working alongside a specialist provision in Havant to recruit a passionate **Behaviour Support Assistant** to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour due to SEMH and other learning difficulties, working on a full time basis.

The school is a specialist provision providing day education for students aged 11-16 years old with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school supports the long-term personal and academic achievements of their students which builds self-esteemand gives them the confidence to face new challenges. The needs of the students are met in a small, nurturing environment with a highly differentiated curriculum and exceptional student-staff relationships.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working with students in Key Stages 3 and 4, in classes between 5-8 students, accompanied by a Teacher and another Support Assistant. You will be working with children and young people who are not able attendmainstream education for multiple reasons, such as:

- Children in Looked After Care
- Anxiety
- Exclusion
- Speech and language difficulties
- Physical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties
- Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
- Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
