We are looking for a Apprentice Fabricator to join our team in Bellshill.

As an Apprentice Fabrication Engineer for NRG Riverside, you will work closely with mentors and supervisors to learn all aspects of commercial & Municipal body repair, including refurbishment of trailers, compaction equipment and lifting equipment. This role would suit someone with good practical and communication skills.

As well as extensive training in a fast-paced workplace, you will also work towards gaining a Level 3 qualification in Fabrication, putting you on the road to a successful career in the automotive industry.
- Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets.

**Main Duties**
- Attend College and other training courses to learn the technical aspects of fabrication welding.
- Work alongside competent colleagues to learn the practical aspects of commercial vehicle body repair & refurbishment.
- Working within the workshop environment & to your competent level of training, maintain Customers commercial fleet of vehicles to DVSA standards, whilst observing Company and manufacturers policies.
- Construction & repair of sub-frames onto new & used chassis
- Installation of new bodies onto new & used chassis’
- Construction of commercial vehicle bodies from start to finish
- Occasional repairs to lifting equipment (Fabrication only)
- Repairing vehicle damage to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Carrying out general housekeeping in the workshop.
- Liaising with mentors and supervisors to carry out tasks.
- Removing and refitting vehicle body panels and trims.
- Setting up and testing equipment.

**Job content**
- Within the level of technical capability & qualification the job holder conducts periodic maintenance inspections & undertakes maintenance work on all types & makes of vehicles, tractor units and trailers in accordance with legislation, manufacturer’s recommendations, and company policy guidelines. Ensuring all vehicles & trailers worked on, are both safe & legal when they leave the workshop.
- Should any breakdowns or non-scheduled repairs occur the job holder would either attend or effect the most economical repair as advised by the Shift Controller or Service Centre Manager. Training requirements are identified through appraisals and reviews, with a personal development plan being agreed.
- The job holder ensures high standards of administration by completing job cards & IT processes accurately after each completed job. Warranty is recovered by the workshop staff identifying the age and mileage of the vehicle or trailer against a pre - determined policy. Any known breach in O - Licence legislation will be brought to the attention of the Service Centre Manager.
- The job holder must collate any information regarding product concerns which can then be brought to the attention of the Shift Controller or Service Centre Manager with the aim of driving forward quality improvements.
- The job holder keeps the working area tidy on a daily basis and is conversant with all current legislation.
- The job holder will ensure his own safety and that of his workshop colleagues & customers by adhering to safe systems of work & all legislative guidelines.
- The job holder must not bring the services or company into disrepute either verbally, written, through action taken or not taken or through the use of social media sites. This is to ensure the company provides the best possible customer experience.

**Training in achievement of the following**:

- A full driving license will be required at an appropriate point.
- NVQ level 3 in Fabrication & Welding
- The ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form.
- Ability to understand technical specification.
- Work within an unsupervised area in a safe and tidy manner
- Good communication skills with line management, senior management, suppliers, and customers
- Ensure a safe working environment is achieved & H&S legislation is learned and adhered with.
