A growing healthcare practice of a London-based communications agency is looking for a Principal Medical Writer to help establish, shape and grow their editorial and medical writing team. As their fastest growing team, their healthcare team is comprised of people who ‘get’ the science but also can craft a killer story and flex their creative muscles.
From more traditional data comms to policy in ground-breaking therapy areas from Alzheimer’s & Huntington’s to oncology, the work is extremely varied and at the forefront of healthcare innovation.

This role is extremely exciting as you will be helping to develop their medical writing function, building a team around you and developing into a Scientific Director at the agency.

The Principal Medical Writer’s Role:

- You will lead on scientific and strategic planning, content development and review, quality control and key medical client relationships, as well as being involved in business development and in developing and growing the editorial team.
- You will act as the agency’s scientific expert, helping to guide the rest of the healthcare team
- Establishing and developing professional relations with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals
- Supporting new business development
- Nurturing close client relationships
- Helping the agency build its editorial processes and output as well as helping to grow the team

**Requirements**:

- Substantial medical writing experience in an integrated healthcare communications or medical communications agency
- Rigorous scientific background, educated to minimum BSc level in the sciences (MSc or PhD advantageous)
- A wide knowledge of different therapy areas
- A passion for communications and science, and wanting to make a difference in healthcare
