Lecturer in Psychology

The Department of Psychology is seeking to appoint an ambitious research-driven Lecturer. Applicants should be developing a reputation in their field, with recent high-quality publications that address major questions and the potential for external grant funding. Recruitment will be focused on bringing in individuals who strengthen and extend the Department’s current research and teaching strengths.

The University of York has one of the UK’s leading psychology departments. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework nationwide assessment (REF 2021) we ranked 8th for overall performance, 2nd for the quality of research papers (with 95% being classified as world-leading or internationally excellent) and joint 1st for our environment which was rated as 100% 4*. In 2007 we received the first Athena SWAN Silver Award for a psychology department and in 2019 we received Gold.
