Join our client a local authority as the Head of Data & Insight Our client is a progressive local authority committed to delivering exceptional services to their diverse community. As part of the Finance & Corporate Resources Directorate within the Customer & Workplace Division, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping their data strategy and driving evidence-based decision-making.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Enable the Council to achieve better outcomes for its residents and businesses through the provision of data, analysis, and insights which support senior leaders in making evidence-based decisions and designing interventions to test hypotheses.
- Lead the continuous development and implementation of the strategy to improve how the Council manages, uses, and derives value from its data. Work collaboratively with service leaders across the Council to help them understand what is possible with data, define and scope data projects and products, and help them to increase skill and capacity in their teams.
- Lead responsibility for definition and assurance of the Council’s standards for:

- Data architecture and data engineering
- Reporting, analysis, and insight
- Line management of Lead Data Analyst x1, Senior Data Engineer x2, Senior Data Architect x1, Senior Spatial Data Analyst x1, and Senior Behavioural Scientist x1.

**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Lead teams to deliver insights supporting strategic decision-making.
- Anticipate community challenges and improve service delivery through data analysis.
- Engage leaders to design actionable data products aligned with strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with data management standards and quality assurance initiatives.

**Person Specification**:

- Demonstrated leadership in organisational management.
- Expertise in data science, engineering, and analytics methodologies.
- Proven ability to influence policy and strategic direction.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Ideally educated to bachelor's degree level or equivalent professional qualification.
