**JOB TITLE**:Apprentice Greenkeeper

**LOCATION**:Launceston Golf Club

**REPORTING TO**:Course Manager

**HOURS OF WORK**:30-40 Hours a week dependant on Season

**Salary**:From £6.40 an hour

**Summary of the Job Role & Purpose**:
You will be working within a team of Greenkeepers, initially working on basic Greenkeeping duties and then being introduced to all golf course equipment and machinery.

By working within a small team over time you will gain experience and be involved in all areas of golf course maintenance and management. You will work with and be trained by successful Greenkeepers with many years of experience in varied roles within the Greenkeeping industry.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Golf course preparation
- Ensuring the course and grounds around the clubhouse are presented in the best possible way including
- A range of mowing
- Presenting and maintaining playing surfaces for golf
- Using and maintaining hand held / pedestrian / ride - on machinery
- Preparing and operating a tractor and attachments
- Renovating and repairing sports turf surfaces
- Preparing ground for grass / plants
- Establishing grass / plants
- Establishing working relationships
- Developing your personal performance
- To be fully aware and comply with all fire, health and safety and hygiene regulation
- To abide by Health and Safety Regulations as required by Law
- Any other reasonable tasks as requested
