**Binnies, **an **RSK **company are recruiting a **Hydraulic Modeller** to join our industry-respected Flood Coastal and Maritime teams based throughout the UK and Ireland. We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of our **Swansea** office where the team consults, delivers and manages Critical Human Infrastructure projects across the Water and Flood Risk Management sector. Your expertise and experience will be vital to support key Clients, such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources for Wales and Water Utility Companies.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Undertake a variety of model studies pertaining to rivers and coastal systems
- Under supervision, construct of hydraulic and hydrodynamic models, model validation, and use of models to investigate flood risk, and proposals for flood mitigation
- Under supervision, perform coastal modelling including wave and tidal modelling, outfalls, and dispersion studies
- Prepare technical reports
- Deliver project tasks to budget and programme
- Liaise with clients and other external organisations as needed

**Essential Requirements**

You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:

- Prior knowledge and experience using river modelling software, such as FloodModeller Pro, MIKE, TUFLOW
- Competent in the use of GIS, MS Word and Excel
- Pro-active approach to work
- Work honestly and openly in a team environment
- Analytical ability
- Attention to detail, and focus on quality
- Able to work within budgets and to agreed timelines
- Team player, with an ability to develop as workload expands and working with others to deliver results
- Communicates effectively with team members and external organisations
- Ability to write clearly and concisely, producing high quality reports
- Knowledge and understanding of basic hydraulics

**Desirable Requirements**
- Be Chartered or working towards Chartered status in a relevant institution such as CIWEM
- Be driven to develop and improve your technical skills and advance your career
