Bridport, United Kingdom Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Dorset HealthCare are delighted to be offering a fantastic development opportunity for a Trainee Nursing Associate (Apprenticeship) role based at Colmers ward in Bridport Hospital.

Colmers ward is a hard working friendly team. Our patients are at the heart of what we do. We are a 33 bedded ward, caring predominately for elderly frail people requiring rehabilitation, palliative care, stroke and dementia care.

We actively encourage career development through our apprenticeship programmes. If you are looking for a new challenge and career development we would be happy to support the right person to achieve this

During the two years, you must complete at least 2,300 programme hours which are divided to achieve an equal balance of theory and practice learning. To meet the requirements of the training programme, TNAs must work in a range of settings and situations to gain as much experience as possible. Full support will be given in the workplace by a Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor and a provider will provide a Practice Tutor/ Academic Advisor that also offers educational support and encouragement along this career path.

Nursing Associates are valued members of the nursing team who complete a two-year foundation degree prior to qualifying. Nursing Associates are accountable for their own practice and are regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This opportunity is a development role, from Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) Band 3 to Registered Nursing Associate (RNA) Band 4.

During the apprenticeship, you will work with your allocated learning provider, towards the NMC’s Standards of proficiency for Nursing Associates. You will also combine your academic work with on-the-job experience within your team.
