Job Purpose:
To work with other staff, volunteers and parents, under the guidance and leadership of the room Supervisor and Early Years Manager, to provide age-appropriate, high quality, safe and stimulating Early Years provision.

**Responsibilities**:
Ø To layout and clear away equipment and play materials in accordance with team plans and health and safety requirements.

Ø To interact positively with children and parents, and to actively encourage parental input.

Ø To record regular observations of children to ensure that the programme is age appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children.

Ø To support the Room Supervisor in the development, implementation and evaluation of age appropriate play programmes and Action Plans.

Ø To engage directly with children with special needs and support them through an agreed ISP.

Ø To plan on a weekly basis for both indoors and outdoors as part of the Sunshine Team.

Ø To prepare and print any paperwork necessary including photographs for observations, display boards, titles, captions, outdoor areas, new observation sheets, planning sheets.

Ø To ensure all child assessments are completed within the appropriate timescale and through agreed processes.

Ø To prepare and facilitate parent interviews for Key Group children.

Ø To deliver pre-enrolment home visits for Key Group children and their parents.

Ø To support parental involvement through the delivery of regular Stay and Plays and any other information sessions as required.

Ø To carry out risk assessments and record as directed.

Ø To liaise with the Room Supervisor regarding any hazards that arise from risk assessments.

General:
1. To work as a member of the Early Years Team and the wider Harpurs Hill Children and Family Centre team, attend meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the service and the Project.

2. To comply with Harpurs Hill Children & Family Centre’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures and Children’s Order Legislation and to report any safeguarding concerns to the Early Years Manager and, in her absence, to the Project Manager.

3. To attend relevant training events, workshops, support & supervision as necessary, and to cover colleagues, absence/sickness as appropriate to maintain essential services.

4. To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work and to adhere to Harpurs Hill Children & Family Centre procedures and protocols.

5. To provide appropriate service and to treat all stakeholders in a courteous and respectful manner and to adhere to Harpurs Hill Children & Family Centre Vision and Values in all aspects of employment.

6. To ensure that all duties are carried out in compliance with all Harpurs Hill Children & Family Centre policies and procedures.

7. To take part in and assist in the organisation of special events, outings, visits or any other activities as required within Harpurs Hill Children & Family Centre.

8. To represent Harpurs Hill Children & Family Centre as required.

9. To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Early Years Manager or Project Manager.

10. To positively promote the Harpurs Hill Children & Family Centre at all times.
