_**The Children's Play Village is the UK’s leading Indoor Role Play Family Leisure Attraction. Based in Warwick UK we are looking for some very special people to join our team.**_
- **We are now looking for additional team members working up from hours 13- 38 hours each week; some weekend work is essential with our team members working alternate weekends (2 weekends in every 4) as a maximum unless weekend working has been specifically requested. **_
- _**9am - 6.30pm (full day)**_
- _**9am - 3pm (shorter day)**_
- _**12pm - 6.30pm (shorter day)**_
- We are recruiting Character Actors & Actresses to perform in newly created roles that bring our beautiful Play Village and its magical stories of everyday fun and adventure to life. Performing in Character throughout each of our play sessions you will tell stories of our Play Village entertaining, engaging and interacting with our child and adult guests alike. Our themes and scripts change every 6 weeks or so, breaking for rehearsals, so our team and guests enjoy a variety of characters and stories._
- Ideally you will have a performing arts background and a passion for performing, entertaining and creating memorable moments for children and families. Your background may include a performing arts qualification or training and/or working previously in paid performing roles. Alternatively you may just have a passion for performance and have enjoyed being part of amateur groups or performing within an amateur dramatics environment. **Main Areas of Responsibility**:
**General**
- To deliver The Children’s Village programme of performance, in character, during play sessions to stimulate activity, enjoyment, fun and participation of visiting children and adults.
- To take a lead role in the play areas observing play and identifying opportunities for positive interactions and interventions.
- To support the development of the programme of performance, games, activities and songs delivered and support the creation of new material and service improvement ideas.
- Maintain high standards cleanliness, order and presentation of all areas but specifically the play areas and play equipment, ensuring a welcoming clean, safe, hygienic and attractive environment for all visitors.
- Ensure that all play areas are kept in good, safe order by returning play equipment and toys to the designated area when visitors have finished playing with and using such items.
- To act as a role model and be able to effectively communicate with children and their parents/carers in order to maintain appropriate standards of behaviour.
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service so that customer expectations are exceeded
- Maintain high standards of personal presentation and personal hygiene.
**Housekeeping and Safety**
- Ensure that appropriate safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure that toys and play equipment are appropriately set up, displayed and rotated in order to ensure visitors have safe access to all appropriate toys and equipment.
- Ensure that all play areas are kept clean and tidy, with a thorough clean daily.
- To ensure that all areas are cleaned thoroughly and returned to the agreed set up at the end of each play session.
- Carry out checks of all toys, play equipment, facades and furniture within each play space BEFORE the start of each play session.
- To participate in the periodic general cleaning schedule as directed
**Customer Care**
Provide high standards of customer care, so that the reputation of The Children’s Play Village is enhanced and service targets achieved. Being pro-active in encouraging guests to engage appropriately with and derive benefit from The Children’s Play Village play areas, activities, events and facilities.
- Provide a high-quality service at all times
- Participate in staff training and support any Children’s Play Village Initiatives.
- Assist visitors with queries in a prompt, professional, courteous and friendly manner, so that customer care standards are met and complaints kept to a minimum.
