Sefton Council is seeking to recruit a Strategic Support Officer to join its established Team, to undertake professional research, co-ordinate projects and service reviews, deliver thorough, relevant, accurate and innovative reports and projects that support change, commissioning, service planning and service development across the Council.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in undertaking horizon scanning, research and fact-finding projects, supporting the review of policies and strategies, and implementing change. Previous experience supporting the development of strategy, policy and plans in a complex setting, is essential. Change management and project management experience, and a good understanding of change and project methodologies is desirable.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build & nurture relationships across the Council, then effectively advise and support senior officers, with the confidence to challenge where appropriate, based on evidence.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person who is readily able to take responsibility and thrive in a fast-moving environment, and be able to deal with a varied and high-profile workload.
