Purchase Order Administrator

Blue Arrow is recruiting a permanent Purchase Order Administrator to join our client based just outside the city centre. The role is 30 hours per week and our client is flexible if these hours are completed over 5 or 4 days. The salary for this role is £19,000 pa.
Purpose of the role
As a Finance Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Finance Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of the purchase ledger side of our finance function as well as assisting in reporting and any ad hoc duties as required.
Main Duties
Raise purchase orders to facilitate efficient procurement processes
Create Project Management Orders (PMOs) for all projects and work streams
Proactively follow up with suppliers to obtain invoices and resolve any queries that may arise
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure timely goods receipting and accurate order updates
Send out weekly reports on pending orders, highlighting items that require immediate attention
Previous experience in a finance department
Familiarity with SAP is desirable
Proficient in Microsoft office including excel, outlook and word
Excellent communication skills, able to clearly communicate needs to various departments.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to adhere to standards and procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to deal with confidential issues
Ability to act on own initiative and adapt quickly to change.
