Priory Hospital Solihull is a 31-bedded mental health rehabilitation service for a males and females aged 18 and over. The service is arranged across three separate wards and is for patients who have severe and enduring mental illness, which might include treatment resistant conditions.

We are an independent sector hospital however all of our patients are NHS patients and we work very closely with local NHS trusts to ensure promote recovery and facilitate discharge at the earliest opportunity that is safe. We have a diverse and extensive MDT including Ward Managers, Deputy Ward Managers, Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Speciality Doctors, Healthcare Assistants, Administrators, Housekeepers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Maintenance, Catering staff, Therapy Assistants and a Senior Management Team on site.

We pride ourselves on excellent working relationships with patients, families and external agencies to support collaborative working and ensure clear communication throughout the care pathway.

Our wards are:
Arley Ward - 10 bedded female rehabilitation ward

Elkin Ward - 10 bedded male rehabilitation ward

Millison Ward - 11 bedded male rehabilitation (community facing) ward

**Requirements**:
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our team. In this role, you will become one of the first lines of support for our service users and be responsible for providing compassionate care during their time with us.

In this role you will work a variety of day and night shifts, either 7.30am to 8pm or 7.30pm to 8am
Experience working in a care role is preferable

Great people skills
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Driving is essential as it may be required to facilitate patients appointments/trips (drivers must have held a full license for 3 years with no more than 6 points)

To be successful in this role, there are a few characteristics we are looking for:
Resilience - This is a role working with vulnerable people who can have varying degrees of mental health difficulties or a learning disability, so there will be days when it may be challenging. This is why we have a strong team ethos throughout our services.
Excellent Communication Skills - Communicating with service users, their families, visitors and colleagues is a core element of the role. Being able to understand the needs of the patients, demonstrating kindness, compassion, reassurance and having the ability to relay information are also key for this position.
Organisational Skills -You’ll need to be able to organise and detailed in your approach and be able to priorities work effectively.
Care and Compassion - Our service users require the best care and compassion we can offer, if you are a naturally caring person, this is a role for you.
Supporting diversity - No person is the same which is one of the great elements of working in this environment. With this, being attentive and making the effort to understand each person and identify areas of how we can support them is key.
