**About The Role**

**About the role**

Responsible for all administrative and stock control tasks to support the Port’s cargo handling activities for the loading, discharging, storage and distribution of cargo. Our cargoes include extensive agricultural products, aggregates and other break bulk commodities. The role also includes working closely with the team on completing work and audits related to ISO 9001:2015, TASCC & OFF.

Your standard working pattern will be 39 hours per week, flexible over 7 days. As overtime can be a regular feature of the role you should be willing to work extra hours as required to meet our business needs.

**Some of your key responsibilities will include**:

- Ensuring that all weighbridge related data is promptly and accurately entered into our Integrated Port Operating system (IPOS).
- Accurately record all relevant cargo and commodity activity in our IPOS system to generate receipt and invoicing information.
- Carry out routine stock checking within our warehousing and shed areas and investigate any short-falls in commodities. Generate reports using IPOS and Microsoft Excel to ensure accuracy of stock control and investigate any irregularities.
- Undertake thorough internal audits based on set standards and provide detailed reports from Operations management.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations team to ensure our procedures are being followed correctly.
- Work with our wider Port Operations team to facilitate free flowing customer collections from the weighbridge area.
- Promptly resolve customer and other stakeholder queries and be the first point of contact for all weighbridge enquiries.
- Ensure weighbridge is correctly calibrated and fully operational at all times.

**What are we looking for?**
- You will be a capable administrator, ideally with good, relevant experience working in a port, transport or logistics environment. Previous weighbridge experience would also be desirable.
- You must be highly organised and have a good attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of all weighbridge information.
- Excellent IT skills including a sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- The volume of work will vary so you need to be flexible to meet business priorities, remaining calm and helpful when under pressure. Your role will see you dealing with colleagues in the Port as well as our customers therefore excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Full driving licence, valid in the UK.
