This is a training role within the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP-IAPT). The post-holder will work within the CAMHS service providing interventions under supervision whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. The training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions for children, young people or families using the core principles of CYP-IAPT practice along with evidence based intervention consistent with the course they are attending. The post
- holder will attend all taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the CYP-IAPT curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

The post holder is responsible for the assessment for and provision of CBT intervention in accordance with service and University guidance and supervision based on formulation of the person’s needs and the development of a relevant plan based upon negotiated goals and relevant evidence based interventions. The post holder, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, will provide CBT interventions to support the person to meet their agreed goals and coordinate and/ or participate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilising recommended outcome measures, involving the service user and any identified carer throughout the intervention.

**We are currently recruiting for**:
**Role**: 5x Trainee CBT Therapists

**Grading/salary**: Band 5
12 month Fixed Term training contract

**Hours**: 37.5 per week

**Base**: Across South Staffordshire.

Trainee High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapists are employed on a one year fixed term training contract that is high pressured, involving a clinical placement where you will manage a high volume caseload of high intensity service users alongside undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGDip CBT) where you will be required to meet frequent academic deadlines.

The training post includes two days per week at University/self-directed study and three days of supervised clinical practice. Trainees are expected to progress to working with a high degree of autonomy, with high volume caseloads; this may include video consultation and face-to-face clinical work. The role is well supported with weekly clinical and monthly management supervision from qualified clinicians. In addition to clinical contact, the role will include data collection, data management, analysis and note keeping.

Your base will be either later determined at a location across South Staffordshire.

Applicants for this role must have applied for the PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with Staffordshire University and must be successful at both interview with the Service and securing a place on the course to be offered the training role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main duties and responsibilities
- Take responsibility, with supervision from allocated CYPIAPT CBT supervisor for the provision of specialist assessment (within service specification), care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual care/treatment plans.
- Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
- Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- Deliver specific CBT interventions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and supervision and guidance in service and University.
- Complete and contribute, where appropriate to robust risk assessments and risk management plans. Deliver and promote positive risk taking, where appropriate, to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence appropriate to age.
- Maintain an effective reporting system by observing and reporting verbally and in writing on patient
- Utilise agreed outcome measures to review the effectiveness of interventions, as part of the care planning and evaluation process and in accordance with CYPIAPT, service and University guidelines and demands.
- Promoting CYPIAPT principles to internal and external colleagues.
- Participate in the development of the service to ensure clinical governance processes are actively implemented at team level.
- Assist in ensuring that service aims and objectives are fulfilled and to identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved.
- The post holder will be required to work within their relevant Code of Practice and professional guidelines in addition to that of the University.
