The Joint Scientific Support Unit ( JSIU ) has created an exciting new opportunity for a Forensic / CSI Trainer. The role will be based at the JSIU Police Headquarters Bridgend, however the successful applicant will be required to travel to, deliver and present training across all areas of the South Wales and Gwent Police. The role will deliver both internal and external training needs.

To ensure annual Crime Scene Investigation and Crime Scene Management competency is maintained, there will be a requirement on the successful applicant to undertake some forensic examinations of various crime scenes including both volume and major crime. You will be responsible for the recovery of all forensic evidence types and to actively assist investigations by providing forensic advice and support. There is also a requirement to undertake Crime Scene Manager and / or Crime Scene Co-ordination duties as and when required. The role will need to deliver a specialist service to victims of crime, within the South Wales Police and Gwent Police areas and the wider Criminal Justice system.
