This is a 3- year apprenticeship in Partnership with Bournemouth University.
Throughout the 3- year apprenticeship, non
- clinical learning will be facilitated from Bournemouth University via remote learning. Non
- clinical learning will be 1 day per week. The remaining 28.5 hours per week will be spent on placement at Dorset County Hospital.
**Entry requirements**:
5 GSCE’s at grades A-C or 4-9, to include Mathematics, English and a Physical Science
112 UCAS points, which should include one physical science
Evidence of recent study
Ability to meet the occupational health requirements of the programme
IELTS score 7.0 (International English Language Testing System)
Equivalency using Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or alternative entry qualifications.
Applicants meeting the above criteria, and selected for interview will need to demonstrate:
Knowledge of the Operating Department Practitioner profession
Knowledge of patient care delivery in the perioperative setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Healthcare organisational values and behaviours
Healthcare organisational constitution
Satisfactory clearance from the Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service
**Funding**:
Course fees will be funded via the Apprenticeship Levy and the Trust will continue to pay you the salary as a Band 3 whilst undertaking the programme.
