**Reporting to**:The post holder is responsible to the Cook of the Secure Home

**Salary and grade**:£20,258.00 - £ 20,441.00 per annum pro-rata Grade 1

**Location of post**:Hillside Secure Children’s Home

The main duties of the post:

- To be aware of and to follow all security procedures within the Centre in order to maintain the security and safety of the young people, the staff and the building.
- To assist the Cook in the simple preparation of meals, eg vegetables, drinks, sandwiches and cooking of chips.
- To cover in the absence of the Cook - for which training will be provided and to be paid the commensurate grade of the Cook.
- To undertake the cleaning and of all the kitchen, storage areas, utensils and equipment to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained.
- To ensure food hygiene and health and safety practices are undertaken to comply with
- Removal of waste products and rubbish from the Kitchen.

Ideally, you will have a certificate in Basic Food Hygiene and have experience of working in a commercial kitchen.
