We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning and personal development of pupils with additional needs. 1-1 pupil support and working with smaller groups of pupils may be necessary.

This is a permanent, part-time, term-time only role, working 30 hours across Monday to Saturday from September 2023.

The main duties of this role will include:
Undertaking a range of duties working with a pupil or groups of pupils at the College (13-18). The role may include 1-1 support.

To offer nurture and academic support to the pupil on a 1-1 basis or to pupils in a group setting.

Working with teaching and specialist support staff, help to plan, adapt, prepare and set out in an appropriate way, programmes of work, activities, materials, equipment and resources for the pupil or group of pupils;
To support the pupil, or groups of pupils, with any recommended examination access arrangements (full training will be given).

To positively and actively promote the Mission and identity of Stonyhurst and to promote the development of the whole person within the Ignatian tradition;
To support games, co-curricular and other activities as required.

Liaise with relevant external agencies, as necessary.

To maintain a flexible approach to adapt to the changing need and requirements.

The successful applicant will ideally possess the following:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant/HLTA is desirable but not essential

GSCE (or equivalent) Maths and English A-C grade

Experience with supporting pupils with SEND during public examinations is desirable

Excellent time management and organisational skills
