You will join us as an IT Technician and will work as part of the IT-Services Technical Support Team, working towards the successful improvement and maintenance of the ICT equipment within the organisation. To help contribute to the continued learning experience of students and the working environment of staff by supporting a provision of suitable I.T equipment, systems and software that is fit for purpose, secure and well managed.

**IT Technician Responsibilities**:

- Be available to support the School and other MAT Schools along with the College as necessary, including the potential for some evening and weekend work with the following aspects of support.
- Installation of new equipment including configuration, auditing and connection to the network.
- Installation and upgrading of software on individual computers and on the network.
- Installation of relevant network equipment, cabling, trunking, etc
- Provide support to relevant Business Applications.
- Work to a defined service level agreement and respond to incidents with efficiency ensuring customer satisfaction comes first.
- Liaise with staff in the organisation on areas related to I.T equipment, ensuring that all staff are aware of the resources available on the network.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in information technology for example, Network technology, other hardware and software. This may include participation in appropriate staff development/training/events.
- Order equipment as directed, verify orders and to carry out stock control.
- Perform deliveries between organisations where necessary.
- Have a driving licence and access to vehicle in order to provide support to other locations as required.
- Undertake any other duties within the spirit of the job description and commensurate with the grading of the post.

**IT Technician Requirements**:
Essential
- Experience of computer hardware; PCs, Laptops, Servers, Printers, MFDs, Networking equipment, Wi-Fi, structured cabling and projection equipment.
- A relevant computing qualification
- An understanding of networking and routing protocols; TCPIP v4 & v6, RIP, SAP, DNS, DHCP and basic firewall configuration
- The ability to prioritise workloads when working to a SLA unsupervised.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all staff
- Ability to problem solve
- A willingness to work in different places at various times
- Hold a current driving licence and access to own transport with business insurance
- An understanding of 'Safeguarding' and its importance within the College
- An understanding of equal opportunities and its importance to the College

Desirable
- Knowledge of managing Microsoft Server systems; Windows Server, Exchange Server, System Center and Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, Office, Project, Visio, Visual Studio and Office 365.
- Some knowledge of managing Mac OS systems; OSX Server.
- Practical experience of cloud systems and their feature sets such as AzureAD, Cloud app security, Microsoft Defender and Intune MDM
- Experience with VoIP systems particularly the Gamma Horizon platform and Panasonic equipment
- Any audio-visual equipment configuration, particularly in the context of video conferencing experience would be desirable
- Knowledge of management information systems such as SIMS or EBS (very desirable)
- Ability to document clearly any complex task with illustrations.
- Be prepared to undertake first aid training

Additionally the post holder will need to be aware of partner organisation equivalent policies and also adhere to their guidelines.

**Hours**: Full Time, 37 per week
**Salary**: £21,016 - £22,865 per annum
