Job Advert Description

We are looking for someone to join Force Major Incident Team as an Evidence Gatherer to provide assistance to Investigating officers from within the Major Incident Team to gather evidence. This will encompass investigations relating to Homicide, Serious Assault, Cold Case Reviews and any other offence requiring a specialist investigative response.

**What will I need to be considered for the Evidence Gatherer role?**
- HNC or equivalent level of qualification, or an equivalent amount of proven relevant experience.
- An investigative background, to include experience of compiling files (preferably of an investigative nature) and previous experience in dealing with and examples of interviewing people.
- Intermediate IT skills, to include the use of Microsoft Office products.
- The ability to gather information and to prepare statements and reports within deadlines to a very high standard.
- The ability to communicate effectively (commensurate with the grade and requirements of the post) with managers, members of staff (at all levels) and members of the public.
- Motivated and disciplined style working on own initiative to complete the task and as part of a team to achieve overall objectives.
- The role will involve the post holder travelling throughout the Force area (and beyond in some instances) and the post holder will therefore be required to possess a full driving licence.
- The ability to attend various locations as directed by workload and supervisor.
