Occupational Therapist

Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for an Occupational Therapist to work full-time based in Chesterfield.

The salary for this Occupational Therapist role is £32,000 - £35,000 per annum

**Job Summary**:

- The unit is a low secure unit for adult males with learning difficulties and mental health needs based near Chesterfield, which has a strong focus on recovery and enabling patients to reintegrate back into the community.
- Join the dynamic, forward thinking and innovative team.
- Engage the patients on the unit in helpful, therapeutic and meaningful activity.
- Manage and co-ordinate individual treatment plans for occupational therapy and activities.
- Provide 1:1 OT assessment and treatment and in particular advise on physical & sensory needs.
- Ensure effective supervision to more junior staff.
- Develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards specifically regarding risk assessment.
- Provide excellent oral and written communication and possess exceptional organisational skills.

**Requirements of the Occupational Therapist**:

- Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
- At least two years of experience either pre or post qualification
- Full BAOT membership
- Experience within the learning disability field would be desirable
- Ideally sensory trained or willing to undertake the training as part of the role
