Podiatry Assistant

We seek to recruit to the role of a podiatry assistant at band 3 level to come and join our existing established podiatry service.

We are looking for an individual who has completed their podiatry assistant competency or is willing to work towards this (training will be provided in-house). Applicants need the skills and attributes required to work autonomously at Band 3 level.

The successful applicant will be based at Hessle Primary Care Centre, delivering care at that site, other health centres in the East Riding and in patients' homes. A driving licence and daily use of a car is essential: as well as travelling to different clinic sites, home visits for housebound patients across the region is an essential component of the role.

This position involves the treatment of a variety of podiatric foot problems suitable for Band 3 podiatry assistant work including nail care, treatment of pathological nails, assisting in nail surgery and carrying out home visits on our housebound clients. There will also be a requirement to deliver preventative advice and foot care guidance to patients.

Individuals will be supported with their continuous professional development and will have opportunities to participate in audit and research.
