Yard & Forklift Operative

**GBR Recruitment are working on behalf of a leading manufacturing client, recruiting for an experienced Yard & Forklift Operative** to move large stock items around the yard or from the yard & into the factory, load & unload lorries, as wellas ensuring the general tidiness of the yard, as this is the 1st thing customers, suppliers & general site visitors see on arrival.

**Gantry or other crane lifting skills / certification would be great** (not a must).

As well as the above, other responsibilities will include maintaining the company vehicle log, controlling parking and traffic on the site, and any other relevant tasks to support the external operations of the company.

**Yard Duties**:

- Forklift driving, general stock movements, loading & unloading.
- Carrying out crane / hoist lifting operations, operating hoist safely, safe work practices, correct positioning of the hoist, routine maintenance / minor adjustments, slings & Lifting gear capabilities/ safety precautions, statutory regulations & codesof practice applicable to lifting operations.
- Maintaining the security of the site
- Controls parking & traffic by directing drivers as they enter & leave site
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
- Maintaining company vehicle log of those entering & leaving the site
- General tidiness, including gardening duties & surface maintenance

**Attributes**:

- Counterbalance Forklift license & operating experience (large oversized goods).
- Previous yard work experience is desired (in all weathers).
- Crane, hoist or pulley operating skills would be beneficial (not a must)
- Strong professional communicator

Regular weekly overtime (10 hours a week or more) to increase earnings
