Nursery Cook

The Old Dairy Farm Nursery are currently recruiting for an experienced cook to work in our nursery serving approx. 50 meals to children aged 0-5, between 0900-1300 (days flexible), starting in January

We are a family run business with a friendly team approx. 20 staff, located on a working farm on the outskirts of Petersfield, with a large garden, outdoor play facilities, edible garden and our own chickens.

A valid food hygiene certificate would be ideal but not essential, all training will be provided.

KEY TASKS
- To maintain and promote sound knowledge of food hygiene practices within the nursery.
- To produce healthy, delicious well-balanced meals & snacks for the babies and children to the specific mealtimes and routines within the nursery
- To produce well balanced nutritional weekly menus, which cater to children’s individual dietary needs.
- To work within a set budget and to be responsible for maintaining food quantities. This will involve weekly shopping lists and ordering.
- To maintain and monitor the ‘Safer Food Better Business’ practices
- To devise, maintain and monitor the cleaning schedule for the kitchen
- To follow COSHH guidance, using control measures to reduce harm to health and keep all control measures in good working order
- To set up and tidy away the dining area before /after meals
- To work alongside Practitioners to create opportunities for children to learn about food and healthy eating. For example, setting the table, food preparation, cooking activities, tidying up etc.

Working: 9am - 1pm (days flexible) / 51 weeks of the year

£12.00-£15.00 per hour - depending on experience / qualifications
