**Job Title: Full Time Senior Children & Young People’s Therapist £28,500 - £31,500.**
ABC is looking to recruit a Full Time Senior Children & Young People’s Therapist to join our team of qualified and experienced therapists.
The successful applicant must have extensive experience of working with children, young people and families within local school, community, social care and muti agency settings. They will also possess the leadership and management skills to succeed in this role.
Successful applicants must be enthusiastic, empathic, and committed to supporting and empowering children, young people and families. They will be qualified to a minimum Diploma level therapy qualification and have a minimum of 450 face to face client hours. Applicants must be a member of a professional body, e.g. BACP, UKCP, PTUK, BAPT and will be either accredited or working towards accreditation.

1. Exercise, promote and support autonomous professional responsibility to work professionally and safely with children and young people referred to ABC services.
2. Positively attend, represent ABC and where appropriate, chair multi-agency meetings and forums.
3. Identify, report Safeguarding/Child Protection concerns to Line Manager at the
earliest opportunity.
4. Deputise for Safeguarding Lead when required, requiring extensive knowledge of safeguarding policy and procedures.
5. Take a lead on assigned developments and project work.
6. Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the service.
7. Report to and be directly accountable to the ABC Senior Leadership Team.
8. Adhere to ABC Safeguarding & Child Protection policy.
9. Actively contribute to the development of all ABCs activities and workstreams.
10. Access supervision in line with professional standards set by the appropriate professional body.
11. Provide ABC Therapists with effective Case Management Supervision.
12. Supervise ABC staff and volunteers and peer mentors to be safe and effective in their role.
13. Accept, coordinate and monitor referrals to ensure the smooth progression of client casework.
14. Assess clients for suitability for counselling, play therapy and other psychological interventions.
15. Formulate, plan, implement and evaluate therapy interventions for children, young
people and families.
16. Utilise highly developed communication skills in working with children, young people,
families and partner agencies in order to fully understand presenting issues and contextual needs to deliver effective therapy interventions and services.
17. Work collaboratively in achieving positive outcomes for children, young people and families, across a wide range of partners and supporting agencies.
18. Ensure that positive therapy outcomes are consistently being achieved for children, young people and families accessing therapy.
19. Meet all data protection and organisational requirements relating to the collection and
use of sensitive data, including the secure usage and storage client and company Information.
20. Support clinical activity in line with ethical standards; including the requirement to submit ABC client notes within the 48-hour specified timeframe.
21. Work closely alongside ABC Directors and Senior Managers, ensuring appropriate feedback is given, or guidance is sought in order to deliver services/projects both safely and effectively.
22. Liaise with partner agencies to coordinate and implement a ‘team around the child/family approach for children and young people.
23. Adhere to and communicate high standards of practice according to ABC Counselling, Play Therapy & Family Solutions CIC, and the professional and accrediting bodies (e.g. BACP, UKCP, PTUK).
24. Ensure that client confidentiality/privacy (within the limits of Safeguarding) is protected.
25. Consider Gillick competence in maintaining client confidentiality where appropriate.
26. Keep up to date with developments in the spheres of therapy to inform and share good practice across the ABC team.
27. Attend/lead on line management/peer supervision meetings to ensure high standards of practice and outcomes is evident and consistent across the team.
28. Work in the best interests of children and young people, seeking and providing guidance and support as appropriate.
