**Head of Communications - **Inside IR35**

**Contract Term: 6 months**

**Contracting Authority: Crown Commercial Services***

**Location: hybrid - Liverpool, Newport, Birmingham or Norwich.**

**As Head of Communications**your main responsibilities would be**:

- Lead on the implementation of new internal and external communications strategies.
- Lead and develop the communications team.
- Provide strategic communications advice and guidance on internal and external communications.
- Develop and implement best practice approaches to customer communications and marketing.
- Ensure all communications are of high quality, in plain English and reflect CCS brand.
- Maximise digital presence.
- Build and measure effectiveness of communities and special interest groups.
- Manage, develop and nurture media and Cabinet Office relationships.
- Provide strategic input into proactive / reactive media activity and related public relations.
- Establish & communicate auditable evaluation and reporting metrics to key stakeholders.
- Champion internal change through effective engagement and communication.
- Develop and communicate framework for the Communications Department’s services.

**You’ll need to be able to**:

- Understand the extent of the role communication can play in supporting behaviour change, and the benefits/risks of alternative app.
- Demonstrate robust knowledge of the industry, media and wider communication and marketing landscape. Draw on this expertise to deliver innovative campaign strategies and provide recommendations to ministers and policy colleagues.
- Successfully direct and oversee implementation of high value multiaudience campaigns to meet organisational objectives.
- Engaging People by Building Capability for All.
- Ensure that individual and organisational learning and talent development opportunities are fully exploited in order to enhance organisational capability.
- Identify capability requirements needed to deliver future team objectives and manage team resources to meet these needs.
- Establish how the business area compares to customer service expectations and industry best practice and identify necessary improvements in plans.- Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
