Summary

This role is primarily concerned with developing and coordinating work under the direction of the Principal Occupational Therapist and liaising closely with the Principal Social Workers in Adult and Children’s services, providing support in the placing of students, and supporting newly qualified practitioners and their assessors to ensure successful completion of their training and development.

The role will also develop and maintain strong connections with universities and colleges so that high calibre/quality newly qualified practitioners (NQPs) are recruited into the council’s workforce and to support strong succession planning in line with workforce strategies within social care.

This post is part of a team that sits within the overarching Performance, Outcomes & Quality Assurance Service in the People Directorate (Children and Adults Services) which has made excellent progress on its improvement journey to transform the lives of the vulnerable across the County.

**About the role**

You will work alongside the Principal Social workers, Principal Occupational Therapist, OD Officers and the Reablement NQOT Development Lead to ensure that placement students and NQSW/OTs receive the best possible support and assessment, coordinating a joined-up programme of development across the services themselves, using expertise and judgment to ensure processes are streamlined, give value for money and learning outcomes are achieved. You will be the key responsible officer for the ASYE/NQOT panels, ensuring clear terms of reference are in place and roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders are clear and seek to identify and continually improve processes.

**About you**

You will have a Social Work or Occupational Therapy professional experience in health and social care.

You will have considerable experience as a practice educator and experience of designing and delivering training programmes.
