**Stable Hand, Complementary Services Team**

**£21,095.00 per annum**

Norwood has an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Complementary Services team as a Stable Hand within Ravenswood village, set in the rural location of Crowthorne, Berkshire. There are 11 different homes in Ravenswood, along with a vibrant Activity centre, Hydrotherapy pool, and Horse-riding centre. This is a unique opportunity for such a person to really demonstrate their passion and drive to support the crucial work the Equine team provide. This role offers a good career progression pathway with full RDA approved training provided.

The Practitioner will work closely with the Stables Lead in conjunction with other professionals (as required) to deliver equine activities within the RDA policies, procedures and governance, in response to the needs of the people using our service. With a positive attitude towards disability and the benefits of the development of the people we support. Primarily for adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and PMLD. Being a key player in facilitating engagement and enrichment for the people we support.

**Key tasks include**:

- Lead equine activity sessions with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis and in group sessions.
- Work creatively to increase engagement and participation in equine sessions
- Set up equipment, ensuring facilities and equipment are safe to use

**Skills and Experience**
- Previously worked with adults who have a learning disability in a health or social care setting.
- Knowledge of horse care and exercise requirements to maintain fitness and horse wellbeing.
- RDA Equine coaching is desirable.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety within a stable environment.
- First Aid Certificate
